Patrick Shaughnessy
Patrick Shaughnessy, Regional Director, comes to Lemar Medical Transcription LLC from TransUnion where he specialized in financial risk management, data security and creating operational efficiencies across departments and international borders.
Patrick is a problem solver. He is an analyst. He demonstrates trust. He is known for his ability to be an advocate – for small businesses, for greater efficiencies, for attention to detail and follow through. He is a regulatory guy and passionate steward of process.
Patrick brings expertise in dealing with high-value personally identifiable information and financial service products like bank credit cards and private label credit cards. He is fastidious about data security and processes that protect clients’ most valuable assets – data – which would be among the many reasons he was trusted and relied upon by clients including American Express, Royal Bank of Canada, Walmart of Canada, Sears of Canada, Hudson-Bay and Canadian Tire.
At LMT, Patrick draws upon his past experience and skill set to focus on helping the healthcare industry become compliant with new regulations and best practices. He concentrates on small- to medium-sized clinics and hospitals, as well as private practices, using a product methodology to determine the correct fit and solution for each situation or challenge. His analytic ability helps providers secure the most efficient and effective services, from medical transcription to transitioning to electronic medical records.
As a long-time volunteer, Patrick lends his talents to Chicago’s Tax Assistance Program preparing state and federal tax returns for Chicago’s senior citizens and working poor. An avid bicyclist and runner, Patrick serves on the support staff for the Chicago Marathon and Triathlon. A long-time safety advocate for the motorcycle community, Patrick teaches classes on motorcycle safety through Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois. He spent part of 2010 on a 6000-mile, 13-state motorcycle tour of the western U.S.
